Unsupervised Adulting, Performance Collective Stranraer

UNSUPERVISED ADULTING is a ferocious physical theatre comedy about a dreary working week. Suitable for ages 12+, this athletic production, performed by West of Scotland’s finest young talents is an hour’s jaunt navigating adult responsibility, whilst holding on to childlike play. Set in a standard temp office – where no one knows exactly what all this paperwork is for – two long-suffering employees and their less-than-capable team leader continue the daily trudge until the new start walks in, determined to shake up the system.

Rituals of Repair

Led by dancer/choreographers Bill Coleman (Canada) and Claire Pencak (Scotland), this workshop will be exploring processes and practices for making new choreographies that allow us to stay dancing with the trouble. In the spirit of sympoesis or 'making with', we will be collectively creating a movement score that can be shared and performed, as a way to create 'Rituals of Repair'.

Suzi Cunningham presents RULES TO LIVE BY / EIDOS

Experience a visceral and powerful double-bill of dance, veering between anarchy, punk music, heroism, idolatry, and loss.

In a raw and riotous movement-led tribute to Mark E. Smith (lead singer of The Fall), Rules to Live By was born out of a spontaneous tribute dance in front of 150 people on the night of his death. Featuring bold choreography set to thought-provoking tracks, the work is a glittery and rebellious aspiration to a hero’s punk anarchy; a requiem for heroism, hedonism, rebirth, and dark disturbing humour.

EIDOS pays homage to Suzi’s beloved grandmother - A radical hero, artist, stalwart and her very own Vivienne Westwood. With emotionally unfolding movements, the work embodies female empowerment whilst challenging the difficulties of loss, identity and aging.

Burnt Out

Join us for the final UK screening of Penny Chivas's Burnt Out this year, followed by an opportunity to discuss the work with the artist.

Weaving spoken word and movement, we are taken through Australia's fiery history including Penny's own experiences. Embedded in sound is the Australian Black Summer; magpies that have learnt to mimic emergency sirens, shark sirens and helicopters circling overhead.
